Cooperative Education “Co-op” Students

If you are a high-school student searching for a co-op placement in the legal industry, first and foremost, thank you for your interest in our firm. Unfortunately, most high-school students are under the age of 18 and cannot sign a binding Non-Disclosure-Agreement (“NDA”). A law firm is a “hub” of confidential client data and there is no way for a person to work within a law office and not be exposed to private information. Confidentiality and security of client data is a pillar of the legal field and, as a result, we cannot accept co-op applications from high-school students at this time.

Job-seeking in the “COVID-19 Era”

If you are looking for an employer who puts your health and safety first, who is equipped and ready for work-from-home or remote work arrangements, or who takes Public Health recommendations seriously, and you think we would appreciate and value your skills and experience, please contact us at the email address below.

Why Apply?

Employee Retention

We want every employee to be a long-term employee.

Diversity

We’ve capitalized on diversity, hiring immigrants from Africa, the Caribbean, East Asia, Eastern Europe, South Asia, and other parts of the world. We welcome applicants from across the human spectrum. We are committed to an inclusive workplace, as well as to a reduction of barriers created by racism, in unconscious biases and discrimination, and better representation of Indigenous and racialized legal professionals, at all levels of seniority. We promote equality, diversity, and inclusion at our firm, towards colleagues, employees, clients, and the public. Everyone is equal—so we are naturally LGBTQ2S+ friendly.

Further, we prefer to work with our employees to help them obtain a better balance in their lives, whether balancing a legal career with being a parent, an athlete, an artist, all of the above, or with whatever calls you. If you put in the hard work and dedication that working in the legal field demands, we can help provide you with the flexibility you need to get to everything that’s important to you.

Structured Job Interview

We ask all applicants the same questions to make a fair comparison among candidates.

Realistic Job Preview (Public Health Recommendations Permitting)

Following the interview, some candidates are offered an opportunity to see what it’s like to work at the firm, from anywhere between a couple hours to an entire day.
